Snowflakes: Making an Impact

On this Spring morning, I woke up to snowflakes falling and the ground covered with snow. Well .... not what I had "hoped" for, but God wanted me to see past the cold temperature and frosted wind-shield on my car and see something different. Did you know that each snowflake that falls is unique? According to “Wonderopolis” , snowflakes tumble through the air, swirling and spiralling, they each take a different path to the ground. Each snowflake falls and floats through clouds with different temperatures and moisture levels, which shapes each snowflake in a unique way. Even though two snowflakes may form in the same cloud, their different journeys to the ground will affect their shape and size, giving each snowflake its own unique identity. You may never find an identical pair of snowflakes, but they can be grouped by similarities in their patterns. Just like a snowflake, each one of us is a masterpiece of God’s creation. We are all unique; not one of us is ever repeated. * “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14 NKJV) When God made each one of us, He blessed us with abilities and talents that best suited each one of us for His Perfect Plan. God’s plan for each one of us is different and perfectly suited just for us. We are all on a unique path where we will experience different circumstances that will shape each one of us. Some of us may start out at similar places, but our different journeys will shape us as we grow in relationship with God. Although not one of us is the same, there are many of us who are similar. The body of Christ is similar as we are empowered by the one and same Holy Spirit, but each of us is uniquely made and imparted with gifts that serve His Purpose best. * “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills”. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11 NKJV) * “For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness”. (Romans 12:4-12 NKJV) On our own, we can’t make a big difference. But, when snowflakes fall together, they can stop traffic!! The Christian life is not meant to be pursued in solitary! God calls us to work together to accomplish His Purpose and when we stick together, with each one of us doing only our own small part, we can make a huge impact!! * “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. (Romans 4:28 NKJV) * “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love”. (Ephesians 11-20 NKJV)
